CONGREGATIONAL PROGRAMMING-- Congregational programming targets several different foci.  There are activities focused on socialization, worship, study, and social action. A bulletin is published monthly, and sent to all newcomers. You are invited to involve your family in the many activities offered by the Jewish community. Our synagogue has a part-time secretary. The office is generally staffed Monday and Thursday from 8:00 am until 4:30pm. Please call for more information.

RELIGIOUS SCHOOL-- The Religious School of the congregation has approximately 30 students. The preschool through 8th grade classes meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00 am until noon. Confirmation class (9th and 10th grades) meets at that time as well. The calendar basically follows the public school calendar. Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring is arranged privately with the Rabbi.

ADULT EDUCATION-- We offer a complete program of Adult Education. A course in Basic Judaism is offered for the community as a whole. Although is it taught from a standpoint of generally educating an individual about Judaism and not intended as a source for converts, prospective converts are required to take the course. Many congregants use it to continue their Jewish Education, as well. Other classes offered range from studies in Jewish texts and Rabbinical sources, Jewish Spirituality, Biblical study, to the Jewish Life Cycle and Jewish parenting. Some adult education events are scheduled around Shabbat actives and /or services, and others are integrated into other aspects of congregational programming. Classes are scheduled throughout the year.

YOUTH GROUP-- FloFTY (Florence Federation of Temple Youth)  is open to our children between the Eighth through Twelfth Grades. The youth group programming makes reality out of the religious school lessons we teach out children. Through their association with other Jewish children and young adults in this and neighboring communities, they experience Judaism in the twentieth century. With the URJ Coleman Camp Institutes as close as Cleveland, Georgia, we have the opportunity to take full advantage of the wonders of the Jewish camping experience. This group operates under the guidelines of the North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) and participates regionally according to the geographic boundaries of the Southeast Region's offices. Our students are encouraged to participate in the many conclaves and convention programs held throughout the region.
